100 Years of Wonder

100 Years of Wonder
Posted on

Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder is a year round celebration, and the party is right here at our home park, Disneyland!

100 years of celebrating stories, characters and magical journeys that this amazing company has brought to life for us.

While we are celebrating 100 years of wonder, Disneyland has some amazing new entertainment, food, and more around the park to celebrate!

Shows:

Wondrous Journey is the new firework show that takes you through the 100 years of Disney’s animation. It’s a brand new show with details projections that differ based on your viewing point. The projections highlight every animated Disney film since 1923 when the animation studios first started. The music, the pyrotechnics and the projections all together will leave you amazed. There is no “bad” spot to view the fireworks, however my personal favorite spots to watch are in front of Small World and on Main Street or the castle viewing. You can also view water projections where Fantastic takes place.

World of Color ONE is a brand new World of Color show that highlights characters and stories from Disney, Star Wars, and Marvel.

I highly suggest grabbing a virtual queue pass for World of Color to guarantee a good viewing spot/ area. World of Color will still Show as scheduled in the rain! (Since we have had a lot of it here in Cali).

Parade:

Magic Happens is back! This colorful parade first debuted in March 2020 right before the parks closed for the pandemic. This parade is officially back and you do NOT want to miss it! Amazing floats featuring Moana, Frozen 2, Sleeping Beauty and more, not to mention the amazing song that will have you singing the rest of the day. The parade will be canceled if there is rain! I love viewing over by small world or at the train station on Main Street!

Food:

Platinum Trifle

Special 100 treats are offered at various locations throughout the park including The Jolly Holiday, Hungry Bear Restaurant, Galactic Grill, and the Plaza Inn. As far as to what I have tried and loved, I recommend the Platinum Trifle at the Galactic Grill or Jolly Holiday and the Lemon Tea Cake offered at the Lemon Tea Cake! Disneyland will be offering more goodies as the celebration continues this year!

Merchandise:

It wouldn’t be a celebration without new merch! Honestly, Disney’s vault and 100 year collection are not to be missed! They kicked off the celebration with Disney Animation Hollywood Studios merch along with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit merch. Both collections turned out to be must haves with ears, shirts, matching sets, hoodies, home decor, plushies and more. As the year continues, more will be released so keep your eyes open!

 Park Updates:

Disneyland Castle 100 Years of Wonder

The decor makes Disneyland look, well, wondrous! The purple and platinum plaques can be found throughout the parks along the light posts, on the castle and at the end of Buena Vista Street! Also, be sure to check out the fountains surrounding the castle… they are stunning! There is also a brand new Mickey Mouse statue at the beginning of Main Street and Minnie Mouse can be found between the castle and Tomorrowland. The monorail is also decorated to celebrate with a new vinyl cover that sparkles in the sunshine. Also, be sure to stop by the Disney Gallery in the front of the park to see some Disney history and original attraction artwork! As an honorable mention, Toontown is NOW OPEN! This reimagined land is beautiful with new grassy areas, food and more… but we will save that for another Blog (wink wink).

That's all for now!
